Abstract

               The objectives of the research were (1) to develop vocabulary reading ability of sixth grade students, Tessaban 4 Phu Bo Bit School, Loei province, and (2) to compare their vocabulary reading ability before and after vocabulary game learning. The research was conducted by the quantitative research methodology. The samples were twenty-five sixth grade students, Tessaban 4 Phu Bo Bit School, Loei province. The study spent two weeks. The instruments used in this research were (1) the innovation: usage of vocabulary games, and (2) the quizzes on the reading comprehension of vocabulary. The statistics used for data analysis comprised of mean, standard deviation, and the t-test for dependent samples.

               The research revealed that the vocabulary reading ability of students learning through vocabulary games was found to be at the very good level; their mean score before learning was equal to 5.64, but after learning to 8.72. Their vocabulary reading ability before and after game-based learning was found to be different at a statistically significant level of 0.01.
